Press Release: Fayetteville Technical Community College To Receive Training On How To Respond To An Active Shooter Threat On Campus

Fayetteville, NC – August 3, 2015 – Dave Young, a Director at Vistelar — the world leader in conflict management training — will be conducting a 3.5 hour training program for all teachers and staff at Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC). This campus safety and active shooter training is mandatory for the college’s 560 employees and will be held on August 4 or August 5, 2015.

Dave Young said, “This course will provide FTCC’s teachers and staff with field-proven tactics how to identify a potential threat in advance and, if an active shooter situation occurs, how to best respond.”

This program will cover the most common types of attacks that occur on campus, profiles of active shooters, the differences between spontaneous and pre-planned attacks, visual and physical deterrents and how to respond if an active shooter situation was ever to occur.
