Press Release: New Online Conflict Management Training For Law Enforcement

Law Enforcement Now Has Access To An Online Training Program To Learn Non-Escalation and De-Escalation Skills

Milwaukee, Wis. – July 6, 2015 — Vistelar, the world leader in conflict management training, is now taking orders for its online verbalization-training program in non-escalation and de-escalation. This new eight-hour certificate program eliminates two of the biggest barriers to officers receiving this type of training – budget constraints and the challenges of taking officers off the streets for classroom training. Law enforcement officers can sign up at http://www.vistelar.com/onlinetraining.

This training is based on Vistelar’s renown Verbal Defense & Influence structured methodology that’s been taught to hundreds of thousands of police officers over the last thirty years. This program has been shown to reduce the need to escalate to use of force, complaints, litigation and injuries, while improving morale.

Kevin Scholz, Vistelar President, states, “All agencies want their officers trained to effectively manage conflict with the goal of improving police-community relations, reduce litigation and increase officer safety. The challenge is that many agencies don’t have the budget and manpower for in-person training. This new online, work-at-your-own-pace, training program provides another option for these agencies that allows officer to complete the training while on duty during downtime or between calls.”

Gary Klugiewicz, a nationally recognized conflict management trainer and former Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Caption, is developing the online training program. Klugiewicz says, “It all comes down to treating people with dignity by showing them respect. Our goal with this program is make it possible for all law enforcement officers to know how to head off conflict and de-escalate it when it occurs.”

Vistelar is a global consulting and training organization focused on preventing and managing conflict at the point of impact — the short period of time when a tense situation can escalate to emotional and/or physical violence. Learn more at: http://www.vistelar.com.
