Press Release: 20-Year Veteran Of The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department Joins Vistelar

Milwaukee, Wis.   – July 28, 2015 – Vistelar, the world leader in conflict management, announced today the on-boarding of a new certified trainer for its Verbal Defense & Influence program. Derrick S. Washington Sr. of Milwaukee, WI will be joining the team of talented trainers who teach Verbal Defense & Influence in both end-user and instructor certification formats for organizations and departments across the country.

Washington is a 20-year veteran of the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department, having been the lead trainer at the Training Academy for 7 of those years. Washington retired at the rank of Lieutenant and is looking forward to new opportunities training with Vistelar.

In addition to his experience at Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Washington is a veteran of the United States Army and acted as the Safety Coordinator for Milwaukee Public Schools for 7 years where he trained and advised school administration and safety aides on safety and security matters district-wide. Washington has instructor certifications in Crisis Intervention, Principles of Subject Control and Defense & Arrest Tactics.
